The Donor Next Door: Identifying and Cultivating Your Most Overlooked Revenue Source
While many of us spend 80% or more of our time cultivating the top one-third of our donor database, we know this exact same group is being tapped by the majority of nonprofits around us.
So why do we keep competing for the usual suspects? Our databases contain an abundance of next-level donors waiting for the invitation to do more! Learn about “the why” and how to engage and inspire these donors to action in support of your mission. Let’s leave the big fish alone and focus on those no one else is paying attention to.
Join the team of Aly Sterling Philanthropy for a discussion featuring practitioners in the field who have found success cultivating the donor next door.
Cocktails and appetizers are on us … so invite the full staff and board crew for a damn good happy hour.

Ben Nicol is a self-proclaimed do-gooder who adores leading a nonprofit that invests in today’s collegians through leadership program fellowships and academic scholarships. Working alongside donors as they realize their philanthropic passions is his professional mission. He found his passion for servant leadership during his collegiate journey at Valparaiso University. With a strong background in leadership and fundraising, Ben enjoys overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation, including long-range planning, staffing, fundraising and marketing.
Jennifer “Jen” Pendleton is a self-described board governance “nerd” who believes sound leadership and strong organizational culture are keys to nonprofit success. She’s also driven to help these leaders identify their nonprofits’ unique qualities and roles in the community, with the goals of making nonprofit magic happen and bringing vibrant visions to life. Before coming to ASP, Jen served as president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Boone County (Indiana), where she led a campaign to raise $1 million in matching funds from the Lilly Endowment for the county’s Community Impact Fund.
