Brackets for Good
In a special report (How America Gives) released in October 2017, the Chronicle of Philanthropy revealed that fewer Americans are reporting charitable giving on their tax returns.
Is it really on the decline or are nonprofits missing the boat?
Join us for a discussion of the report’s findings and what they mean for the Indianapolis nonprofit community. Jen Pendleton, vice president of Aly Sterling Philanthropy, and Sarah Nathan, associate director of public programs at The Fund Raising School, will lead the discussion.
Come early for our partner preview hour!
Visit the Speak Easy classroom for product demos and Q&A with our friends from Bloomerang, Boardable and Brackets for Good.

Sarah K. Nathan, Ph.D. is Associate Director of The Fund Raising School, the nationally renowned professional training program for fundraising practitioners. As a true pracademic, she supports faculty and curriculum development while engaging in research about the fundraising profession. Previously, she was assistant professor of nonprofit management and philanthropy at Bay Path University where she taught and advised online graduate students in the Masters of Nonprofit Management and Strategic Fundraising degree programs. Dr. Nathan holds the MA and PhD in philanthropic studies from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Bloomerang helps nonprofit organizations to reach, engage and retain the advocates they depend on to achieve their vision for a better world. Our cloud-based donor management application is rooted in principles of philanthropy, simple to use and focused on empowering your team to achieve remarkable results through enhanced donor loyalty.
Built by nonprofit founders to serve nonprofits, Boardable is committed to improving the way community nonprofit boards and committees work. We know the frustration of trying to organize a board via email, phone calls and texts. After looking around for the right tool and not finding it, we decided to build it.
Brackets for Good: Fundraising madness, the only sport for nonprofits.
Jennifer “Jen” Pendleton is a self-described board governance “nerd” who believes sound leadership and strong organizational culture are keys to nonprofit success. She’s also driven to help these leaders identify their nonprofits’ unique qualities and roles in the community, with the goals of making nonprofit magic happen and bringing vibrant visions to life. Before coming to ASP, Jen served as president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Boone County (Indiana), where she led a campaign to raise $1 million in matching funds from the Lilly Endowment for the county’s Community Impact Fund.
